Austronesian Large Silver Ring
Bold and shiny, with a slight concave shape on the outside and a double line of 8 small spheres in the centre, this is a different interpretation of our classic Timor Rings. You will find the characteristic rich adornments on the inside, while the outside is left completely unadorned. This statement piece is approximately 15 millimetres wide.
The Timorese have used metal for at least 2000 years. Early pieces were made of gold, as silver came to the island relatively late. The Tetum are among the most active silversmiths today, producing beautiful bracelets and other jewellery pieces.
