Lombok Earrings with Amethyst

Lombok granulated silver earrings with two amethysts at the bottom. When looked at closely, you will see that the shape differs slightly between one stone and the other, one round, the other pear shaped. The flexible hinges and their relatively light weight allow for a swaying movement.

Floral motives symbolising abundance are often found in jewellery of the Sasak culture in Lombok. Originally, natural materials, plants and flowers were used as adornment. Over time, they were replace with precious metals imitating the natural elements.
