Diamond and Emerald Horse Earrings

Can you see two horse heads adorning the top of these wonderful earrings? Gold and silver spheres form face and ears, and two large dark diamonds symbolise the eyes. Emeralds were placed at the bottom of these pieces, giving them a subtle movement.

Ornaments found in the Northern countries include a variety of jewellery and several artefacts considered part of warriors' and hunters' equipment. One of these items is believed to be the top decoration of a sword scabbard. The richly decorated ornament possibly displays two horse heads facing each other.
