Karo Batak Silver Bracelet

In this bracelet, a Tulang Naga weaving has been combined with a Karo Batak pin clasp. Granulation of different sizes, as well as soft and round shapes are elements found abundantly in Karo Batak jewellery.

The Karo Batak were know for their exquisite work as gold- and silversmiths. As with many other ethnics, jewellery served as status symbol, insignia, to indicate belonging to a certain age group, as talisman or amulet, or simply as embellishment. Traditional jewellery ornaments are still in use today among the Karo Batak.
