Navarathna Topaz Ring
Topaz and aquamarines in turquoise, royal and light transparent blue shades, gold and silver granulation make up this one of a kind Hindustani ring. It is around 2,5 centimetres large at the top.
The ring speaks of the prosperity and wealth of age-old kingdoms, the power and magnificence of their rulers. Fortunes accumulated in gemstones were ostentatiously displayed to attract mighty allies and intimidate sinister adversaries. Even the most intricate pieces were entirely handmade. Often, a single piece required the collaboration of a designer, a silversmith or a goldsmith, a stone setter, an engravist, a lapidary, and a polisher.
