Tuareg Infinity Silver Pendant
Smooth handmade silver pendant, made by our Azawagh smiths through hammering, shaping, filing, and sanding. With its 8,5 centimetres length, it can be worn close to the neck, or alternatively on a long silver chain, bringing out its remarkable shine and solidly crafted components.
What did the smiths have in mind when they first created this design? The shape is that of infinity, carrying the meaning of regeneration and eternal life. In Tuareg culture, symbols were cryptic, yet their significance was so self-evident to the wearer, that no explicit definition was needed. Much of ancient knowledge therefore persists today only in the shapes preserved through inheritance and craftsmanship.
